Calendar Overlays let you create a combined view of separate calendars by layering them onto another calendar. This means you can keep separate calendars in your account, but you can combine them all in one view to see all of your events at once.
If you'd like to know the name of the overlay that a specific event came from, you can append the overlay name to the event. See the image below:
