There are several ways that you can export your contacts from your mobile device and then import them into your Keep&Share account. We recommend using Keep&Share to backup your contacts because then your contacts are accessible from any device, any location, at any time. Plus you can consolidate contacts from several accounts and devices.

How to transfer iPhone contacts to Keep&Share

First, iCloud will need to be enabled on your iPhone. Follow these steps:

  1. Tap on the "Settings" icon
  2. Tap on your name at the top of the screen
  3. Scroll down on your screen until you see the "iCloud" tab and tap on that tab (you can also use your phone "Search" to find the iCloud)
  4. In the "Apps using iCloud" section make sure that the toggle next to "Contacts" has been turned on

Once you have your iCloud turned on and your contacts synced, you can then transfer your iPhone contacts to Keep&Share. You'll need to use your Desktop computer to transfer the contacts. Follow these steps:

  1. Open your internet browser (e.g. Safari)
  2. Go to www.icloud.com
  3. Log in using your Apple ID (If you don't remember your Apple ID there will be links to recover your ID on the iCloud login page)
  4. In the list of available iCloud apps tap on "Contacts"
  5. Click on the gear icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
  6. From the pop-up menu click on "Select All"
  7. Click on the gear icon again and click on the "Export vCard" option
  8. Your vCard file will start downloading and make sure you see where the file is downloading

You can then import your iPhone vCard from your desktop computer to your Keep&Share by following the steps in this help article.

How to transfer Android contacts to Keep&Share

Android devices don't have a native "iCloud" solution like iPhones do. However, depending on your service provider you may have cloud storage provided for you. Please see the list below for how you can export your contacts using your service provider. Alternatively, you can export your contacts list from your Android device using these steps:

  1. Tap on the "Apps" icon on your Android desktop
  2. Tap on the "Contacts" icon
  3. Tap and hold the "Menu" icon for your device (You may need to search online for where this is located for your specific device)
  4. Tap on the "Settings" option from the menu that appears
  5. Tap on the "Contacts" tab
  6. Tap on the "Import/Export" tab
  7. Tap on the "Export to device storage" option
  8. Your device will tell you where the file will be exported to (it will be in your device storage)
  9. Once the file has been exported you can then send yourself an email with the contacts file attached

You can then import your Android vCard from your desktop computer to your Keep&Share by following the steps in this help article.

Transferring contacts from the Verizon Cloud

First, you'll need to make sure that your Verizon Cloud has been enabled. Verizon will store and backup your contacts for free in the cloud.

  1. Tap on the "Apps" icon on your mobile desktop
  2. Tap on the "Verizon Cloud" icon in your list of apps (If you don't see a "Verizon Cloud" icon you can download it from the Google Play Store)
  3. From the list of backup options choose "Contacts"
  4. Select an existing email address and tap on "Next" (Tap on "Other" if you want to choose an email address that isn't listed)
  5. Scroll through the Verizon Cloud features and tap on "Dismiss"
  6. Tap on the "Cloud is waiting for WiFi to backup" to begin a backup (If you are already connected to WiFi your backup will begin automatically)

Once your contacts on your Android are backed up, you can then export your contacts on a Desktop computer using these steps:

  1. Go to www.verizonwireless.com
  2. Log into your account
  3. Scroll over "My Plan & Services" in the menu towards the top of the screen
  4. Click on the "My Cloud Media & Contacts" option from the drop-down menu
  5. Click on the "Contacts" option in the menu
  6. Click on the checkbox next to "Select All"
  7. Above your list of contacts on the right-hand side click on the downward arrow
  8. Choose to export your contacts as a vCard file
  9. Choose a name for your exported file
  10. Click on "Save as" and navigate to the intended storage location on your computer
  11. Click on "Save"

Transferring contacts using AT&T or T-Mobile

AT&T and T-Mobile do not offer their own cloud-based storage solutions. You'll need to try exporting your contacts using Gmail or exporting your contacts manually from your Android (directions listed in the previous section). You can also lookup instructions for your specific Android device for more information on exporting contacts.

Transferring Contacts using Sprint

Sprint offers cloud storage using Pogoplug. Sprint recommends that you download Pogoplug from your Google Play store and then follow their directions to sync and backup contacts from your phone. Once you have backed up your contacts you can log into your Pogoplug account from your Desktop computer and then export your contacts as a vCard file.
