When you have a spreadsheet of addresses on your computer, the first row in your spreadsheet is considered the “field name row.” The field names that you have chosen for individual columns in your file (such as name, address, email, etc.) may not be the same as the names that Keep&Share uses. When you are importing your addresses into your account you need to make sure that all of your contact information is uploaded correctly.

“Field mapping” helps to make sure that all of your contact information is imported into the right fields in your Address Book. It allows you to choose using a series of drop-down menus what contact fields in your imported spreadsheet match with the contact fields in Keep&Share. First, you will need to upload the .CSV spreadsheet file of addresses from your computer to your account using the “Customize” screen.

Once you have selected and imported your spreadsheet, you will be taken to the Field Mapping screen. On this screen, you can see the field names from the .CSV file you imported in text in the left-hand column. Next to each field name in the right-hand column is a drop-down menu. These drop-down menus list all of the available field names in Keep&Share. You can choose from these menus where you would like each field of information from your spreadsheet to be imported.

You can click on the “Import Data” button to finish the importing process.

After you have chosen all of the new field names in your .CSV file, you also have the option to save the current settings of the field map that you have just created by clicking on the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen. Once you have saved a field map, it will be available to you every time you import a new spreadsheet of addresses. This can save you time if you plan on importing more spreadsheets with the same field names.
