After you have set up “Self-Book” for your account, you can add the option for Visitors to use the Self-Book feature for your Events and your Calendar. There are five types of Self-Book templates that are built into your account: Book an Appointment, Sign Up for a Group Event, Make a Reservation, Suggest an Event, and Meeting. Three of these templates apply to your Events, and two of them apply to your entire Calendar.

Adding “Self-Book” to your Events

The three types of Self-Book templates that you can use on your Events are “Book an Appointment”, “Sign Up for a Group Event,” and "Meeting." You can create any number of customized Self-Book templates, but only the templates that are “Book an Appointment”, “Sign Up for a Group Event,” and "Meeting" types will show up when you are adding Self-Book to your Events.

Setting up the "Book an Appointment" template

“Book an Appointment” lets Calendar visitors select one on one bookings from a range of time slots you set up. To set up this template first you need to create a time slot Event. Click on the “Self Book” button on the bottom of the Event Editor to select "Self-Book" as the event type. Select an “Appointment” template from the drop-down menu that appears next to the "Self-Book" button, and click on the “Save” button, and the appointment link will appear on your Calendar. Only one individual can sign up for an appointment at a time.

Note: You can quickly and easily add lots of appointment slots to your Calendar by creating a bookable appointment Event, and then setting up a series of repeating events based on the bookable Event.

Setting up the "Sign Up for a Group Event" template

“Sign Up for a Group Event” lets you create prearranged Events that multiple Calendar visitors can sign up for. To set up this template first you need to create a time slot Event. Click on the “Self-Book” button on the bottom of the Event Editor to select “Self-Book” as the event type. Select a “Group Sign Up” template from the drop-down menu that appears next to the “Self-Book” button, and click on the “Save” button and sign-up link will appear on your Calendar. The number of spaces available to book depends on the capacity of the “Group Sign Up” template selected.

Setting up the "Meeting" template

The "Meeting" template allows you to create events that you can invite others to and they can RSVP for your event. To set up this template you'll need to choose and date and time in your calendar. Click on the “Self-Book” button on the bottom of the Event Editor to select “Self-Book” as the event type. Select a “Meeting” template from the drop-down menu that appears next to the “Self-Book” button, and click on the “Save” button and the sign-up link will appear on your Calendar. 

You can then click on the blue "Attendees" link that appears next to your meeting and choose what people you want to RSVP to the meeting. They'll then be sent an email invite that they can 


Adding “Self-Book” to your Calendars

The two types of Self-Book templates that you can use on your Calendars are “Make a Reservation” and “Suggest an Event.” Like with the Event Self-Book templates, you can create any number of customized Self-Book templates, but only the templates that are the “Make a Reservation” and “Suggest an Event” types will show up when you are adding Self-Book to your Calendars.

Setting up the "Make a Reservation" template

The “Make a Reservation” template allows Calendar visitors to suggest the time and content of appointments they can book to your calendar - it’s much like the Appointments template, but with less set up on your part. To set up this template go to the “Customize” screen, click on the "Entry Settings & Self-Book" tab, and then click on the "Self-Book" tab. Select a “Make a Reservation” template from the drop-down menu, and click on the “Save & Exit” button to save your choice. A “Make a Reservation” Button will appear on your calendar for Calendar visitors to use.

Setting up the "Suggest an Event" template

The “Suggest an Event” template gives Calendar visitors the most access as it allows them to create and add a public “Self-Book” Event that will be displayed to other visitors on your calendar. To set up this template go to the “Customize” screen, click on the "Entry Settings & Self-Book" tab, and then click on the "Self-Book" tab.

Select a “Suggest an Event” template from the drop-down menu, and click on the “Save & Exit” button to save your choice. A “Suggest an Event” button will appear on your calendar for Calendar visitors to use.

Note: This template is particularly useful if you'd like to publish an interactive embedded calendar with your calendar visitors.

Setting up a Custom “Self-Book” Template

When you customize a “Self-Book” Template, you can set up and use these custom “Self-Book” Template the same way you would use the built-in template it was based upon. Learn more about customizing your ”Self-Book“ templates.
